Aether: Encyclopedia - Aether theories

In natural philosophy, aether (a.k.a. "ether") might be considered "the stuff of space", or "the medium" (lit: "that which is between") that carries signals between objects separated by vacuum. "The aether" was sometimes considered to be "the fifth element" (see: "quintessence"), in addition to Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Although it is tempting to talk about "the aether", a number of fairly different theories have been presented over the years that assign "the aether" different properties. When someone talks about proving or d ...

Aether: Encyclopedia - Aether mythology
Aether ("upper air"), in Greek mythology, was the personification of the "upper sky", space and heaven. He is the pure, upper air that the gods breathe, as opposed to "aer", which mortals breathed. In Hesiod's Theogony he was the son of Erebus and Nyx, and brother of Hemera, both noted in passing in Cicero's De Natura deorum. He is the soul of the world and all life emanates from him. The aether was also known as Zeus' defensive wall; the bound that locked Tartaros from the cosmos. Category: Read more here: » Aether mythology: Encyclopedia - Aether mythology

Aether: Encyclopedia II - Luminiferous aether - End of aether?

Aether theory was dealt another blow when the Galilean transformation and Newtonian dynamics were both modified by Albert Einstein's special theory of relativity, giving the mathematics of Lorentzian electrodynamics a new, "non-aether" context. Like most major shifts in scientific thought, the move away from aether theory did not happen immediately but, as experimental evidence built up, and as older scientists left the field and their place ...

In Hinduism, Prana is the infinite matter of which energy is born. Also interpreted as the vital, life-sustaining force of both the individual body and the universe. Prana suffuses all living form but is not itself the Atma or individual soul. Aether: Encyclopedia - Aetherometry

Aetherometry is the name given to the experimental and theoretical study of "massfree energy" developed by biophysicist and molecular biologist Paulo Correa and his collaborator Alexandra Correa. They have also described it as the "science of the metrics of the massfree aether". The term "massfree energy" is not in use by mainstream physicists, and aetherometry is not supported by scientific consensus, being in conflict with established theories such as relativity, conventional or Lorentz electrodyn ...

Akasha is the Hindi/Sanskrit word meaning "aether" in both it's elemental and mythological senses. In Hinduism it is one of the Panchamahabhuta, or "five great elements." In paganism and Wicca, it is the unifying energy inherent in every living creature on the planet, and in all four elements (earth, air, water, and fire) in nature. Aether: Encyclopedia - Akashic Records

The Akashic Records (Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning "sky", "space" or "aether") are said to be a collection of mystical knowledge that is stored in the aether; i.e. on a non-physical plane of existence. The concept is common in some New Age religious groups. The Akashic Records are said to have existed since the beginning of Creation. Just as we have various specialty libraries (e.g., medical, law), there are said to exist various Akashic Records (e.g., human, animal, plant, mineral, etc). Most writings refer to the Akashic Records ...
