Achates

In Roman mythology, Achates was a close friend of Aeneas. He accompanied him throughout his adventures, and led him to the Sibyl of Cumae, remarkable for, and a perennial type of, fidelity. Aeneas (Greek: Αινείας, Aineías) was a Trojan hero, the son of prince Anchises and the goddess Aphrodite (Venus in Roman sources). He was also the cousin of King Priam of Troy.
