Acceptance: The Fine Art Of Wise Parenting

Children are very creative. However when faced with failure, they might become dispirited. Good parenting can enable children to accept facts of life and persuade them to proceed proactively in a creative mode.

The challenge of life is in accepting the fact that 'life is not fair'. Once you accept this fact, a certain understanding is generated. This will enable you to accept whatever life gives you.

Acceptance: Accept Your Good - About Acceptance

Acceptance can be an emotionally loaded subject. Some people get upset because they think that they are accepting of their good, but it isn't showing up in their lives. They want increased prosperity, more health, better relationships, and say, "I accept it, but why isn't it here?" Other people believe that they'll be selfish if they open themselves up for Universal good. Somehow, they're afraid they're taking it from others. Many blocks to a better life stem from old feelings of guilt or unworthiness. We may not be aware of the feelings, but we get to experience the results by not accepting all that the Universe gives us.

Acceptance: Encyclopedia - Acceptance band

Acceptance is an alternative rock band from Seattle, Washington. They have released two albums so far. "Different", a single off their latest album has had some radio play. Acceptance's sparkling rock themes unveil not only their previous musical experience, mostly coming from punk rock ground, but also the crossbred musical wishes shared by each member of the lineup. Forming in Seattle, WA, Acceptance signed their particular view of alternative pop/rock not only due to their pure rocking influences, but also because of their c ...

Acceptance: Encyclopedia II - Shit - Acceptance

Recently the word shit has become increasingly acceptable on American television and radio (in Britain this has been the case for some time, although fuck and cunt remain mainly taboo). Many songs with the word shit in them are now slipping past censors on the radio. A good example is the episode of South Park "It Hits The Fan" in which the citizens of South Park use the word shit 162 times, as counted by a counter at the bottom left corner of the screen. This episode is currently airing as ea ...

Acceptance: Encyclopedia II - IEEE 1541 - Acceptance

Despite the presence of the standard, the new binary prefixes have difficulty in gaining acceptance. Common refutations are that SI prefixes for binary multiples have been used for years for computer-related quantities and that major operating systems and applications still use SI prefixes for binary multiples. Nevertheless, manufacturers of storage devices, such as hard disks and DVDs, are used to decimal multiples to express capacities, and decimal multiples are used for transmission rates as well. This is common cause of confusion among users that see those amounts reported inconsistently, especially as capacities become bigger and ...

However, because the IOM was directed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to examine only epidemiological studies; neither study was considered in the subsequent IOM report, which strongly rejected a thimerosal-autism association and recommended diver ...

Acceptance: Encyclopedia II - Delphi method - Acceptance

But overall the track record of the Delphi method is mixed. There have been many cases when the method produced poor results. Still, some authors attribute this to poor application of the method and not to the weaknesses of the method itself. It must also be realised that in areas such as science and technology forecasting the degree of uncertainty is so great that exact and always correct predictions are impossible, so a high degree of error is to be expected. Another particular weakness of the Delphi method is that future developments are not always predicted correctly by iterative consensus of experts, but instead by u ...

Acceptance: Vedic Philosophy - Non-acceptance of Isvara or God

Non-acceptance of Isvara or God: The Sankhya system is called Nir-Isvara (Godless) Sankhya. It is atheistical. The Sankhyas do not believe in Isvara. They do not accept Isvara (God). The creation produced by Prakriti has an existence of its own, independent of all connection with the particular Purusha to which it is united. So the Sankhyas say that there is no need for an intelligent Creator of the world, or even of any superintending power.

Acceptance: Encyclopedia - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, ACT (said as one word, not as individual letters), is based on functional contextualism. ACT is based on mindfulness and Relational Frame Theory (RFT). ACT differs from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in that ACT concedes that controlling our private events (thoughts, feelings and memories) is not possible. ACT focuses on what we can control: our arms, legs and mouth. ACT teaches us to "just notice", accept and embrace our private events, especially previously unwanted ones. ACT states that language itself can cause human suffering. The ACT algorithm is: Accep ...

Acceptance: Universal Acceptance For Lasting Peace

On this day in 1893, Swami Vivekananda addressed the Parliament of World Religions in Chicago. At the opening address, Charles Bonney, the Chicago lawyer who organised the congress, said: "The very basis of our convocation is the idea that the representatives of each religion sincerely believe it is the truest and best of all." In this context, Vivekananda 's "talisman of tolerance" was a vibrant civilisational message to the world from the soul of India.

Vivekananda's words gave the World Parliament a defining focus. He began by saying he was "proud to belong to a religion which had taught the world tolerance and universal acceptance". He explained that "we believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true". He said he was proud that his nation had always sheltered the persecuted - like it had, for instance, fleeing Israelites and Zoroastrians.

Acceptance: Accept God as Supreme

Accept God as Supreme

The Bhagavad Gita says: Bhagavan uvaca - "the Supreme Lord said...,'' indicating that it is the Supreme Lord Himself who is speaking.

Krishna is referred to as Bhagavan in the Gita. Bhaga means opulence, and van means one who possesses. God or Bhagavan is described as one who possesses all opulence, knowledge, wealth, power, beauty, fame and renunciation. There are many rich, wise, famous, beautiful or powerful men, but no one man can claim to possess all of these opulences. Only Krishna claims to possess them in totality.
