Aberdeenshire historic - Communications

The historic county of Aberdeenshire (Siorrachd Obar Dheathain in Gaelic) was until 1975 a county of Scotland. In 1996 the name was revived for the modern council area of Aberdeenshire, which has different boundaries. The county bordered Banffshire and Inverness-shire to the west, Perthshire, Angus and Kincardineshire to the south, and the North Sea to the north and east.
