Mid Ulster UK Parliament constituency - Assemblies and Forum elections
The six MLAs for the constituency elected in the 2003 election are:
- Billy Armstrong Ulster Unionist Party
- Geraldine Dougan Sinn Fein
- William McCrea Democratic Unionist Party
- Patsy McGlone Social Democratic and Labour Party
- Martin McGuinness Sinn Fein
- Francis Molloy Sinn Fein
- Changes Francis Molloy was suspended from Sinn Fein on November 23, 2005 following disagreements about reforms of local government. [1]
In the 1998 election the six MLAs elected were:
- Billy Armstrong Ulster Unionist Party
- Denis Haughey Social Democratic and Labour Party
- John Kelly Sinn Fein
- William McCrea Democratic Unionist Party
- Martin McGuinness Sinn Fein
- Francis Molloy Sinn Fein
In the 1996 election to the Northern Ireland Peace Forum, 5 Forum members were elected from Mid Ulster. They were as follows:
- John Junkin Ulster Unionist Party
- Patsy McGlone Social Democratic and Labour Party
- William McCrea Democratic Unionist Party
- Patrick Groogan Sinn Fein
- Francis Molloy Sinn Fein
In 1982 elections were held for an Assembly for Northern Ireland to hold the Secretary of State to account, in the hope that this would be the first step towards restoring devolution. Mid Ulster elected 6 members as follows:
- Denis Haughey Social Democratic and Labour Party
- Alan Kane Democratic Unionist Party
- William McCrea Democratic Unionist Party
- Mary McSorley Social Democratic and Labour Party
- Danny Morrison Sinn Fein
- William Thompson Ulster Unionist Party
In 1975 elections were held to a Constitutional Convention which sought (unsuccessfully) to generate a consensus on the future of the province. The six members elected from Mid Ulster were:
- Ivan Cooper Social Democratic and Labour Party
- Paddy Duffy Social Democratic and Labour Party
- Robert Overend Vanguard Progressive Unionist Party
- Richard Reid Democratic Unionist Party
- Francis Thompson Ulster Unionist Party
- William Thompson Ulster Unionist Party
In 1973 elections were held to the Assembly set up under the Sunningdale Agreement. The six members elected from Mid Ulster were:
- Ivan Cooper Social Democratic and Labour Party
- Paddy Duffy Social Democratic and Labour Party
- John Dunlop Vanguard Progressive Unionist Party
- Aidan Larkan Social Democratic and Labour Party
- Thomas Pollock Ulster Unionist Party (pro Sunningdale)
