Historical Georgian paganism was connected with Moon and the highest god in Georgian pantheon was idol of Armazi, a figure of soldier, Moon-god, erected at the hill in Mtskheta. Other idols were Gatsi, Gaime and Zadeni. At the place of Armazi idol now is built Jvari Monastery. The idols were destroyed in IV c. when Christianity became state religion of Georgia.
