Rix (see Refs.) postulates several syllabic consonants, namely /l, r, m, n/ and palatal /l, r, n/ as well as a labiovelar spirant but this is not the view shared by most Etruscanologists. Some scholars (see Cristofani et al.) also view the aspirates as palatal rather than aspirated.
