Cities of London and Westminster UK Parliament constituency - Proposed Boundary Changes
The Boundary Commission has proposed that the City of London and the City of Westminster together should form two constituencies without pairing with another London Borough. Therefore, the Bayswater area will be removed from this constituency and paired with those portions of Regent's Park and Kensington North which are within the City of Westminster to reform the Westminster North seat which existed prior to 1997. The remainder of the constituency will be renamed Cities of London and Westminster South, which was also the case prior to 1997.
The political effect of these changes will be to make this constituency safer for the Conservatives while creating a Westminster North seat which is highly competitive between the Conservative and Labour parties.
