Yamaha Motif

The Motif is a workstation Synthesiser released by Yamaha Corporation in August 2001. Four variants are available:

• Motif 6 which has 61 keys (synth action).
• Motif 7 which has 76 keys (synth action).
• Motif 8 which has 88 keys (balanced hammer effect action).
• Motif Rack which is controlled by other instruments and has no keyboard.

• AWM2 PCM tone generator
• 84Mb of wave ROM
• 62-voice polyphony

The keyboards include three PLG plugin connectors (two on the rack) and cards are available for adding additional polyphony and synthesis types, or an mLAN card.

The Motif's successor is the Motif ES, although the original Motif is still sold.
