Women's Spirituality: Womens Movement in a Spiritual Perspective

As women, how are we going to grow and contribute to the evolution of the Earth? asks Tapasya Dasaji.

In India, the reality is that many people still believe men are superior to women, women should obey and serve men. Abuse of women, sexual discrimination, differential wages, male preference are still going on. These are more or less global phenomena although they may take different forms in different places.

This androcentric view has its roots even in religions like Christianity and Hinduism. So women of today often fall into self under-esteem on the path of their self realization. Women are not allowed to grow. Are women really inferior?

Bhagavan says this Aquarian age is age of women. It's not that women and men are not equal but that they are just different each other. The differences exist in order to sustain evolutionary process. We can grow only when we understand these differences in qualities and skills of men and women. And this understanding is also beneficial for men to integrate themselves.

There are many misunderstandings regarding superiority and inferiority between men and women. Several thousand years ago, men and women were not different in body size and muscle development. Long emotional, psychological suppression caused women to become smaller and weaker. Male hormone makes men like men but at the same time, it makes men easily get angry. Women has bigger front cortex which makes them emotionally more stable. Women are more sensitive and have better emotional skills. Women are more mature than men. Men are said to have bigger brain but it does not necessarily mean that they are more intellectual because women's brain has more grey matter.

These are all just differences. Men and women have different skills. Today, female managers score over men with those qualities like teamwork, decision making ability, collaboration, patience, commitment, devotion, etc. which are inherent in women. Bhagavan says women are superior to men in spirituality. They have subtler senses, they are more sensitive, compassionate and loving, more mystic and get easily enlightened.

Why, then, couldn't they flower? Because of the social, cultural, religious conditions which made them feel suppressed and have fear in properly estimating themselves and having confidence. To break these conditions, women need to get right knowledge about themselves. They have to really know about their body, their mind, their relationship, their parenting, their spiritual self.

As you work upon gaining this knowledge, you can gain confidence, find right relationship, love others and yourself, come out of conditions and fear. Women don't love themselves. All the problems of women start here. Every woman feels oneself not good enough. But freedom is internal thing. You have to be free from your own negative conditionings and inner ugliness.

Accept yourself as you are. Love your body whenever you look into the mirror. You are fine as you are. Accept what you are born with. When you compare, you become unhappy, when you accept, you start to grow. Stop seeing the negative sides and start to see the positive sides. Love yourself. Cleanse your mind and you will have right relationships and you will love yourself. Important thing in relationship is that, as long as you blame someone, you can not love yourself. When you forgive the other, then only you can love yourself.

Find out what your role on this planet is. If you have visions and meaning, you will feel good. If you have an aim, you will feel power! Modern people keep their jobs for survival even though they don't like them at all.

Follow what your heart long for and achieve it. Also, when you share with others, you feel powerful. When you learn how to share, how to give, how to help, then you can command instead of demanding. When you feel powerless, you demand love, you feel need to be needed. But your need will never be filled before you give.

Except for God, only women can create, that is, give birth. It requires compassion and patience. This is a real women's skill and women's power. Awaken your spirituality. Being spiritual means gaining access to the higher energy, connecting to God, a guider within. When your life is led by Him, He will do and give everything for you. Women are spiritual being. Develope your spirituality. Every man and woman has both male and female inside as symbolized by left and right hemispheres of brain. In Golden Age, these two will synchronize and integrate into a complete human being.

Also important is to try to understand each other. A relationship does not lie in comparing who is superior but in complementing each other and learning from each other. We want others to think and act like us. But only by recognizing the difference and experiencing it completely, healthy and sustainable relationships will grow. Spirituality is also how you relate with everything. It's a way of life. It's neither an idea, nor a religion, nor a 'do this and not do that'.

Q: How do you find your life's mission?
A: Feel how your heart feel. Start doing what you really want to do. Then you will feel happy and enjoy it. If you accept God's help, it will become much easier. He will let you know what. Also your childhood dream is most probably your life's mission. Life's mission does not imply that you'll have no obstacle with it. But there will be divine protection and you will have great joy overcoming those obstacles.

Women are women's the worst enemy. Women has to love themselves. Don't be jealous, don't blame or envy. Understand and accept and totally experience without judgement.

Q: What is men's role in women's movement?
A: Respect and nurture and help women. Bhagavan said he will send grace to those who respect women. Awaken your female within. This will help your transition.
