Where Is My Mind?

"Where Is My Mind?" is a song by the Pixies. It originates from their 1988 album, Surfer Rosa. The song was written by the band's leader, known as Black Francis, while he attended the University of Massachusetts. His girlfriend at the time overheard the initial pieces of the song and told him "That's a good one, you should finish it". Indeed, it went on to be one of the Pixies' most popular and beloved songs.

This song was used as the exit music for the movie Fight Club, starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.

British rock band Placebo made a cover of "Where Is My Mind?" which was later included into their 2003 covers compilation. A performance of the cover, accompanied by Black Francis of the Pixies is available on Placebo's DVD.

The song was also covered by the Texas rock band, The Toadies, and is available on their "Live From Paradise" album. Yet another cover, by Nada Surf, is available on a Pixies Tribute album by the same name.
