Venus Transit: Sabian Imagery in the Venus Transit

The Sabian Symbols tell us the purpose of Venus's transit over the Sun on June 7-8, 2004. During this transit, the Soul of Humanity goes on a quest for specialized knowledge which will ensure humanity's survival as an evolutionary continuity.

The Soul of Humanity is personified by Venus. The specialized knowledge necessary that ensures human continued evolution is personified by the sun. In the 18th degree of Gemini, retrograde Venus and the sun come into conjunction during the eclipsing transit. The Sabian image for 18 degrees Gemini is all about specialized knowledge: its uses and applications. The Venus-Sun transit is the golden opportunity for humankind to gain access to the necessary and special knowledge that ensures human evolution and existence.

At this point in history, a the end of the Piscean Age and on the threshold of the Aquarian Age, humanity is challenged profoundly by its own capacity to destroy itself and the planet or to save itself and planet earth. This challenging choice has been brought into sharp focus by the advent of the atomic bomb and ecological crisis. It has presently been brought into crucial focus by the need for oil and the war in Iraq. Humanity stands at the point of decision in the present world crisis.

One misstep and a totally disastrous world war could be the unstoppable result What can be done to put things right and head off such a catastrophe? The Venus-Sun transit mirrors the utmost desire of the Soul of Humanity to find the answer. The answer lies in the specialized knowledge released during the transit. This special knowledge is a concrete awareness and experience of love and wisdom.

Mayan mythology call the Venus-Sun transit the return of Quetzacoatal. In Christian mythology, the Venus transit over the sun symbolizes the return of the Christ Consciousness to earth.

As avatars, Christ and Quetzacoatal are messengers and embodiments of love and wisdom. How will their return with new information about love and wisdom be received on earth by humanity? The answer is shown astrologically by the movement of the moon through the last 3 degrees of Aquarius and the first 2 degrees of Pisces.

The moon changes signs during the approximate 6 hours it takes for Venus to transit over the sun. The moon shows the mood of the mass of humanity during this time. At the beginning of the transit, the moon is in 28 degrees Aquarius. The Sabian image for 28 Aquarius demonstrates the human soul's capacity for awareness of the NEED for a new and better understanding of the wisdom of love in order to evolve it's evolutionary crisis. The desire to get this particular knowledge is intense. At the time of the exact conjunction of Venus and the sun, the moon is in 30 degrees Aquarius.

Humanity has achieved it's goal. Humanity has raised up and opened its consciousness by the power of its own intense desire for an answer to its needs. It can now download the new knowledge and understanding needed. As Venus separates from the sun after conjunction, the moon changes from Aquarius and enters Pisces. At this parting, the results of their meeting in 30 Aquarius can be seen. The moon in the first degree of Pisces indicates that as a result of the energies absorbed during the Venus-Sun conjunction, humanity has gained the capacity to EMBODY the principle of universal compassion.

This principle can be stated as, "Let us love one another and all life." Having now the specialized knowledge of how to embody the principle of universal compassion in its possession, humanity now has the means to prevent it's extinction by human imperfection and error. The moon in 2 Pisces says that humanity will use the principle of universal compassion to ensure it's survival. Using universal compassion as a survival tool is the mark of a more evolved life form. Thus, humanity evolves. When each human being decides to become a more compassionate person as part of the Soul of Humanity, then the culmination of the Piscean Age is achieved. Universal compassion which was embodied Christ at the beginning of the Piscean Age is now available as the common property of all humankind.

This knowledge becomes available as the Venus-Sun transit completes its journey. In the Venus-Sun transit, I've discussed all the moon's Sabian symbols except one, 29 degrees Aquarius. It's a mystery as to what happens after Venus reaches the sun's interior and just before it aligns in an exact conjunction. When a degree is skipped in a chart's calculation for major events, it indicates a window of free will.

Astrology is a mirror of cosmic process. It shows what the universe will provide. What the universe doesn't obviously provide, human consciousness can is expected to provide. Aquarius 29 as a window for the exercise for human free will, states that in order to secure the full blessing of the Venus-Sun transit each person must make a decision to radically alter one's life and re-order their patterns of living into a higher order of harmony, flow, and peaceful cooperation.

In other words, anything that is disharmonic must be purged. The 2 hours before the exact conjunction is the time for each human being to dig deep and dump the junk. How successful one is in doing this, determines the quality of one's experience with the Venus-Sun transit. It also adds to or subtracts from the whole experience as it affects humanity and the planet. A Hawaiian prophecy says that this particular transit of the Venus over the sun heralds a time of creating a new earth where Divine Harmony reigns.

From my examination of the Venus-Sun transit charts, I agree that the prophecy can come true if people will take full advantage of the Venus-Sun transit to transform themselves. In closing, I would like to share some more interesting information on Hawaii. According to Mayan calendar expert,

John Major Jenkins, the Mayan saw Hawaii as THE place where the impact of the Venus-Sun transit would be the greatest. Thus, the Mayan support the Hawaiian prophecy that beginning in Hawaii, a new world of greater love and harmony would be created under this rare Venus-Sun transit.

From Hawaii, Divine Harmony radiates around the globe to add to the harmonic uplift occurring all over the planet.
