My journey into deeper presence has included a
wider understanding of the many aspects of our multidimensional self. In our
descent into 3rd dimensional human incarnation, many identities formed at
various stages along the way.
In the very beginning of all things, the
Unmanifest One chose to manifest. And so It manifested as a field of being,
consciousness, and energy. Before there was a concept of anything, this field
pervaded everything. There was no awareness of time yet, no dimensions of space
or matter, simply this vast universal presence aware of itself as itself, what
the ancient seers of India referred to as Brahman, the “I that I eternally AM.”
This universal presence found outer expression as individualized presence, as
individualized I AM, or Atman. Although distinct from Brahman, Atman was not
separate from Brahman. Atman is also known as the Monad.
This is where our journey begins. Monad sought expression. Vehicles were
created for its expression. Various planes or dimensions were created for these
vehicles to explore. And so we began to externalize ourselves, eventually
creating a universe in space and time, seeding it with infinite possibilities
of expression, and creating forms for ourselves to interact with other forms.
In our journey of descent, our primary identity of pure I AM Presence began to
create reflections of itself that were capable of responding more directly to
the planes and dimensions we traveled through. Some of these reflections were
human, others cetacean, others angelic, others devic or elemental. There are
innumerable such reflections within the starry universe. And so, along the way,
one such stream of divine expres-sion created an oversoul consciousness of
humanness, which later individuated further into human soul
consciousness.
There was constant
communication between these aspects of Self. Brahman and Atman were not
separate. Atman and soul were holographic reflections of each other. Atman, or
the I AM, existed before the creation of time and is eternally self-existent. Soul
was created after the division of time and space, and therefore was able to
orient itself in the worlds of form. In the realms of soul, the causal planes,
time is not yet a linear construction as it is in the physical planes, and so
soul found itself able to simultaneously explore worlds and realms in a
multitude of times and spaces at once.
In order to deepen our experience of any one of these simultaneous
possibilities, we created personalities. We endowed these personalities with
mind and emotion, drawn from the mental and emotional planes. Descending still
further, we formed bodies of denser matter that these personalities could
express through in interaction with other personalities. We incarnated as souls
within these personalities to explore the worlds of form.
Our awareness of
ourselves continued to extend into the realm of personality. As fifth
dimensional beings, we remained unified with the aspects of us that existed as
soul, oversoul, and monad. We too were imbued with creator consciousness. We
continued creating new worlds and possibilities with unified intent.
As we descended into
fourth dimensional form, the diversity and multiplicity of our expression
continued to grow. At this point we merged identity with another stream of
oversoul consciousness, known as the devic or elemental kingdoms. Just as the
focus of the human kingdom was to develop personality through mental and
emotional expression, the purpose of the devic kingdom was to play in the
worlds of form, creating an infinite variety of lifeforms in the physical
realms.
The Elohim are part of the devic realm. Their job was to create planets. A
hierarchy of devas was established to cover different orders of creation. The
nature spirits are specialized devas under the guidance of the nature god, Pan,
that are responsible for creating the many vehicles for life available for
souls to inhabit.
There was a devic
stream responsible for the creation of human bodies. As we merged with this
stream, we found ourselves fully embodied within fourth dimensional human bodies.
The devic consciousness within the body remained unified with all the other
aspects of self through the entire line of descent from the Original Source. Our
DNA reflected this unification. At that time our DNA is believed to have
comprised 12 strands, instead of two, as it does now. Each of the original 12
strands included two strands from each of the planes we had traveled through. Thus
there were two strands connected to each of the etheric, emotional, mental,
intuitional, causal, and atmic planes,
making a total of 12 strands. Operating as a unified 12-strand DNA field, our
bodies were capable of attuning to the vibrational qualities of each of these planes
and dimensions.
The tragedy of the Fall to the third dimension was the fragmentation that took
place within this unified sense of self. The body was experienced as separate
from the personality, which in turn was experienced as separate from the soul. Access
to the higher frequencies of oversoul and monad was completely cut off. As the
stream of devic or elemental awareness separated from the stream of human
personality, a split was created within our bodies. The body elemental took
charge of the autonomic functions, such as regulating the heartbeat,
maintaining hormonal balance, and all the multitude of things that go on in our
bodies all the time without our conscious participation. The personality
maintained control of the voluntary functions.
As we dropped to a lower vibrational frequency, known commonly as the physical
planes or 3-D, our DNA fragmented as well. The two strands of DNA on the
etheric planes dropped down into the frequency of the physical plane and became
effectively cut off from the remaining strands of DNA, thus cutting off our
access to those planes. Our journey back into 4-D includes the reconstruction
of our spiritual genetics, as we return to 12-stranded DNA consciousness.
There is another center of identity we need to
become aware of. This is the “dreamself,” also known as the luminous body, or
the etheric self. This is an aspect of ourselves that can facilitate
communication on non-conscious levels between these split off parts of
ourselves. The dreamself is also used by shamans when they access non-ordinary
states of consciousness. It is capable of traveling interdimensionally, and
imprints itself with any information required from any level of reality. To the
extent that we are linked with our dreamself we can access this information
consciously.
To summarize, there are many aspects of ourselves that were once unified and will
be so again. These include the monad, soul, personality, dreamself, and
elemental. To the extent that we are aligned with all these aspects of
ourselves, we open to higher and higher levels of love and truth. In early
2001, during an enlightenment intensive, I found myself in a state of profound
Unity consciousness in which my personal sense of self merged with the I AM
Presence for a period of time. The following commentary was written from this
perspective once I was able to think and write in linear terms:
Beloved child of light, I AM the Father. I AM
the Great Spirit. You have asked yourself many a time, “Who am I?” and I would
like to respond in ways that will make it easier for you to experience this
directly. As you speak of me, my, and mine, you usually identify with the personality,
or waking self, and all of the roles, memories, beliefs, and expectations
generated by your personality within a given
incarnation. It is a center of identity held in the emotional body and fed by
the lower mental body.
Your permanent identity is the soul. It
is self-existent, and operates outside of linear time. It is superconscious,
and is linked with every other individual consciousness. The soul exists beyond
the realm of duality. It is a center of identity held in the causal body.
Then there is the elemental. You might
call this a subconscious self, although it is subconscious only in relationship
to the waking self. In truth, the body elemental is a highly developed
consciousness, intricately connected to the biological form, and directly attuned to all devic consciousness on
the planet. It is a center of identity held in the physical-etheric body.
The dreamself is a center of identity
held in the astral body. It is a messenger, able to project aspects of itself
into each of the other identities in order to bring all these selves into
alignment. It needs to be consciously created, shaped, and refined. When
adequately developed, the dreamself can function in close rapport with the
waking self, allowing for shamanic access to the “upper” and “lower” worlds,
and providing the ability to shapeshift through various dimensional realities. When
fully developed it creates a light body to merge with the physical body. In
dolphins and whales, because of the holographic nature of their brains, the
dreamself is merged with the waking self. The submerged and surface minds are
one.
And finally, there is the Monad, Atman,
I AM, or God-Self. This is the ultimate reality of being, beyond qualities and
attributes, beyond dimensionality and causality. It is the indwelling Source
and creator of all the various aspects of self and their respective bodies,
realms, and dimensions. Atman, as individualized God-Self, is intimately linked
with Brahman, or universal God-Self.
For the most part, these centers of identity
have separate functions and are entities unto themselves. They co-exist
together during an incarnation—not always very harmoniously—then separate and
follow their own evolution separately at death. Unless, that is, an incarnated
being has succeeded in unifying all these identities within him or her self as
an ascended -master.
The human brain is capable of accessing and
unifying all these identities. Each of them is associated with a corresponding
state of consciousness:
Elemental—alpha frequencies—threshold consciousness
Personality—beta frequencies—waking consciousness
Dreamself—theta frequencies—dreaming consciousness
Soul—delta frequencies—deep sleep consciousness
Monad—deep delta—lucid, or “turiya” consciousness
For most people the brain is locked into a certain narrow range, corresponding
with beta frequencies. This can be shifted. Don Juan refers to this as a
shifting of the “assemblage point,” or the Second Attention. Once the brain can
begin to access and experience all five of these states of consciousness,
unification can begin. The five frequencies can be brought into a harmonic
resonance so that their corresponding centers of identity can act as a
functional unity. When this “harmonic convergence” takes place, unity is
experienced both within the self and in communion with all there is throughout
the universes.
Much research is being done with sound
frequencies at this time to stimulate brain states. The ancient yogic practice
of working with inner sound frequencies, known as the “sound current,” is
useful here. The sound current acts as a tuning device, as it were, to bring
your identities into resonance. (A guided meditation on the sound current is
explored in Chapter 25.)
Notice that each identity is associated with a field of energy that shapes and
informs it (gives it form). The elemental is fed from the etheric planes, the
dreamself from the astral planes. The personality is fed from the emotional and
mental planes, while the soul is fed from the intuitional and causal planes
that hold the sacred geometries and possibilities for all creation. The Monad
relates to the atmic planes, yet it is beyond forms and planes altogether. The
Akashic Records are to be found in the etheric planes. The bardos and various
shamanic worlds and dimensions are of the astral planes. Each of these planes
is composed of inferior as well as superior worlds.
The soul-infused personality is attuned to the
higher mental or intuitional realms, whereby the materially oriented
personality is attuned only to the lower mental realms, which correspond
largely to the conditioned thoughtforms of mass consciousness. The brain
receives this as chatter or confusion, and stimulates emotions based and rooted
in fear and constriction. This in turn stimulates the structuring of the
physical body from the coarse ethers, while leaving the dreambody relatively
unformed and feeble.
Thus you find that there is resonance between
the various identity structures when each operates within the highest
frequencies available within its respective field of governance. When the
identity structures fall into the lower ranges of their governing planes, the
various identities are effectively cut off from each other. The path of
ascension mastery is therefore about refining each of these identities to
vibrate at their highest levels so they can unify.
When the personality first begins to surrender to soul, it is the beginning of
the First Soul Initiation. As the dreamself begins to also link in, the
initiate takes the Second Initiation. The Third Initiation is marked by a
complete fusion between soul and personality, and the beginning of conscious
alignment with the elemental. At the Fourth Initiation, there is now a complete
fusion with the dreamself. The Fifth Initiation is marked by a complete fusion
with the monad as a God-realized personality. At the Sixth Initiation of
ascension, the elemental is completely fused with the God-infused personality,
and we experience full enlightenment within the body.
Do you see that your Inner Teacher, your
monadic consciousness, is linked with, and one with, all intelligence in the
universe? All the kingdoms of the Earth, Gaia herself, the ascended masters,
star nations, even the Universal Logos, are all connected? In a very real sense,
you are all gods. Your acts of devotion to God, then, could be directed toward
all beings. Love is what God is.
So go and love, beloved child of light, and concern yourself not whether it is
a tree, the face of a human lover, the ground beneath you, the stars above, or
your own body. Concern yourself not whether you call this God or Great Spirit,
Allah or Beloved. God is all there IS, inner and outer, great and small,
visible and invisible, devic, human, angelic, rock, or animal. Say, “I love
you, God,” and feel the emanation of love expressed towards all the universes
in each moment of your existence. Feel at the same time how God loves you, and
receive that love from all the universes. This raises your frequencies, until
in the convergence of your identities you become a fully realized God-conscious
being. An ascended master is one who is conscious of all planes, all
identities, all beings, in a unified state of awareness.
