Pleasure and Pain is also the name of a documentary DVD by Danny Clinch about Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. It covers much of Harper's philosophy and tour schedule, while also providing a format for visualizing Harper's songs. Included on the DVD are behind-the-scenes segments shot backstage and in Harper's hometown of Claremont, California where Harper's family-owned music store and museum, Folk Music Center, is located. Endearing moments spent with Ben's grandfather, Charles Chase; grandmother, Dorothy Chase; and mother, Ellen Chase-Verdries, are also shared.
