Out of Body Experience: Chakras, Out of Body Experience and Inner Development

The first usually spontaneous out of body experiences are impressive, verifying from a practical point of view the existence of a soul. Such experience provides the feeling of being independent of the physical body, of existing without and outside the physical body. Mostly these overwhelming life experiences lead to a non-materialistic and spiritually orientated dedication of life. Very often these people start to meditate or at least tend to more idealistic behavior.

In consequence, the quality of subtle forces is changing for the individual, and with this change or inner evolution, accompanying daytime effects are observed such as special body sensations (vibrations, hot spots, pressure), greater empathy and sensibility. There are also others, such as paranormal and poltergeist side effects (the latter only relates to mediumistic people).

To enable a better orientation, I first start with a so-called theoretical scheme, which serves to group a many-fold phenomenon into three main groups. This will give a clearer understanding of the source and quality of the side effects, and the sequence of inner development.

The stages and the symptoms of inner development have been observed by me personally and have been reported to me verbally and by means of correspondence with many people. The following stages are responsible for different OBE results and different daytime side effects. Commonly in the esoteric field, these stages are declared spiritual evolution and are described in the frame of basic chakra theories.

Let us start with the explanation at the basis of chakra development. In this case the activated chakras are:

*The chakras of the abdomen, called Svaddhisthana Chakra and Manipura Chakra in Indian Yoga tradition, respectively the Spleen Chakra in theosophy, occultism and spiritism. These chakras are responsible for mediumistic and poltergeist phenomena.

*The Anahata Chakra, (heart chakra) related to higher developed kinds of emotions, mainly unselfish love (cosmic love) and religious feelings.

*The Ajna Chakra (between the eyebrows), as termed by Indian dogmatic Yogis, and the front chakra (in the middle of the forehead) as termed by Western esoteric ideologies.

The classification of the steps of development can be done without relating to chakra theories as well. Development may be classified as dominated by the mind, emotion or body. In this form of explanation, the focus of consciousness is based on bodily orientation, on emotional feeling and on the intellect. Below in the image you find these three qualities set to traditional esoteric body locations. You may say that the source of all is located in the brain, but the brain is structured and it may be these structures are in some way associated with these body regions. Now let me show an image of these three qualities associated with body parts:

Forehead, dominated by the colors white/blue, center of imagination (visual techniques)

Breast, yellow/orange, center of love

Abdomen, red, producing mediumistic effects, source of etheric OBEs

Now after the approximate orientation, let us come to details, starting from the lowest center.

ABDOMEN, SPLEEN CHAKRA: ETHERIC OBEs

Characteristic phenomena, if this region has been vivified:

WHEN PERSON IS FULLY AWAKE - Has a feeling of inner power, is emotional, some times emotionally unbalanced.

WHEN INDIVIDUAL IS RELAXING, TIRED OR MEDITATING - Voices can be heard, unexplained cracking of wood, poltergeist phenomena, vibrations, sounds. I want to remark that these effects are not a consequence of astral projection. On the contrary, these sounds, voices and poltergeist phenomena are a sign of a mediumistic disposition, and the OBEs (the first OBEs are usually spontaneous) are a consequence of the mediumistic disposition as well. Further associations with this type of OBE are spontaneous independent movements of feet (mostly floating), arms (mostly short abrupt movements) and head (seldom spontaneously) of the subtle body.

DURING ASTRAL PROJECTION - Hears voices, has feeling of being touched, visions of ghosts. This relates only to people with a mediumistic disposition. Etheric OBEs are characterized by the awareness of leaving the body. The excursion is started from the room where the physical body is. Further etheric OBE experiences are silver cord experiences, blackness, double consciousness (consciousness of the physical body and of the subtle body).

BREAST, ANAHATA CHAKRA: ASTRAL PROJECTION

Characteristic phenomena, if this region has been vivified:

WHEN PERSON IS FULLY AWAKE - Compassion, idealism, intuition (intuitive knowledge of right action), empathy (to feel the emotions and character orientation of others).

WHEN INDIVIDUAL IS RELAXING, TIRED OR MEDITATING - Love. Brightly saturated colors are seen spontaneously. Voices, cracking of wood etc. are less and less observed and vanish in time.

DURING ASTRAL PROJECTION - Encounters with deceased, with spiritual guides. However, especially at the beginning, the excursions not only lead into high astral planes, but also into hell regions or desolated astral planes (this often is regarded as part of the learning process).

HEAD CHAKRAS (FRONT CHAKRA, AJNA CHAKRA, CROWN CHAKRA): ASTRAL PROJECTION

Characteristic phenomena, if this region has been vivified:

WHEN PERSON IS FULLY AWAKE - Intellectual stimulation to the point of restless thoughts. Counteraction for this is thought control (Mauna, Zen meditation). Feeling of will power. Blue and white light spots are seen spontaneously at any daytime occasion. When these centers are too much activated, a bothering feeling of pressure at the forehead or the top of the head is observed. Counteraction: meditative and magical methods for "grounding," energy circling, balancing and harmonizing by meditation on the Anahata Chakra.

WHEN INDIVIDUAL IS RELAXING, TIRED OR MEDITATING - White and bright blue lights. Images, visions of landscapes. Telepathic abilities, clairvoyance.

DURING ASTRAL PROJECTION - The astral projections very often are excursions to mental planes. A mental plane very often is dominated by subjective constructions. If a person is not far developed and still dominated by an individual and ego-directed mind, the inner universe is not collective but a veiling shell of personal intentions. This is the source of a chaotic multiple of experiences of subjective character and leads to confusion for everyone who wants to find understanding and rules for the other dimensions. You may consider the mental plane a self-made universe, which veils the individual with a thought cocoon. For better understanding - in theosophy a mental plane is a collective mental plane with only few subjective layers, thus it is considered a plane of communication for highly developed souls.
