Operation Fortitude - Fortitude North

Fortitude North consisted of the creation of the fictional British Fourth Army, complete with subsidiary units and headquarters. Fake radio traffic was created (an operation called Operation Skye), along with media reports of units activities. British diplomats also began negotiations with neutral Sweden in order to obtain concessions that would be useful in the event of an invasion of Norway, such as the right to fly reconnaissence missions over Sweden and the right to refuel planes that made emergency landings. These negotiations were made not in the hope of obtaining the concessions but more in the hope that news of the negotiations would reach the ears of the Germans.
