Mudras and Health: Mudras for Healing Feeling ill? Got a problem? Going by Acharya Keshav Dev's verdict, you could skip the doctor for a while and knot your fingers in various gestures, popularly known as Mudras says Acharya Vikrmaditya. The five fingers on our hand represent the five elements. The ring finger represents earth, the little finger represents water, the thumb represents fire, the index finger represents air and finally the middle finger represents space. Physical ailments are the results of the disturbance in the equilibrium of the five elemental forces of the body. This imbalance of the elements can be easily cured through Science of Mudras. Apan Mudra Joining the tips of middle and ring finger with the tip of thumb forms the Apan Mudra. Benefits: - Cleanses and purifies the body. - Provide relief in urinary problems. - Facilitates discharge of waste material from the body. - This Mudra is totally harmless, and can be practise as much as possible. Pran Mudra By joining the tips of ring finger and little finger with the tip of the Thumb, the Pran Mudra is formed.
