Energy armor is an advanced form of energy control. Energy armor is usually manifested in form of some outer shell, with the controller as the heart of the armor. This is usually used to enhance the controller's power. An excellent example would be the energy field around Proteus or the frictionless energy field which surrounds Kid Slick of the Doom Patrol.

Energy blasts are forms of energy that are expelled from the body, most often from the hands. Vision and Havok are examples of this ability. When the energy is blasted from the eyes, this has been commonly referred to as optic beams, especially when referring to Cyclops.

Force fields are usually invisible shields that some characters produce as a form of protection. Though force fields are used in many different ways, they are usually shown in comics as a spherical, clear energy field covering the user. Popular examples of characters that can produce force fields are Invisible Woman and Martian Manhunter.

Power absorption has been displayed in many, many forms, from Mimic's ability to 'mimic' powers and physical traits of people around him to Rogue's more famous way of touching a mutant and temporarily being able to use their powers.

Sonic screaming is an ability that usually involves a character's voice being used at dangerous capacities. The sonic scream ability greatly varies from character to character. Most characters are able to switch on and off between their normal voice and sonic scream. Unfortunately, this is not the case for Black Bolt, who has by far the most powerful sonic scream, and could destroy a mountain with barely a whisper. Zauriel's sonic scream actually destroys his throat. Other characters with forms of the sonic scream include Banshee, his daughter Siryn, and Black Canary.

The ability to transform an energy blast into more like shots, not mainly popular, energy beams are very strong and can be seen used by characters such as Starfire.
