List of Final Fantasy locations - Cardia Islands/Dragon Caves
An innocent-looking archipelago in the northwest region of the world. Beneath the islands are caves in which dwell a race of dragons who are ruled by their king, Bahamut. Bahamut is willing to grant power to any warriors skilled and courageous enough to brave the Citadel of Trials.
List of Final Fantasy locations - Castle Cornelia Castle Coneria
Castle Coneria is very close to the player's starting point inside the village walls of Coneria and conveniently located just a short walk from the Temple of Fiends. A bridge provides easy access to Pravoka while a port to the south makes casual ocean jaunts smooth sailing all the way. Amenities include secure storage of valuables under lock and mystic key, and a throne right off the master bedroom. Warriors travelling on a budget will be pleased to know that the nearby inn is one of the most affordable in the region.

South of Melmond, this cave is home to a vicious vampire. With the aid of the Earth Rod, one can travel deeper into the cavern and find the Earth Crystal, recently corrupted by Lich, the Earth Fiend.
List of Final Fantasy locations - Citadel of Trials Castle of Ordeals
From the overworld map, it appears as a stand-alone castle hardly near any other locations. After venturing through this dungeon, the player will obtain the key item; 'Rats Tail'. This item alows the party to proceed with 'Class Change' which makes the party of warriors stronger. The 'Crown' (Key item) is required to gain access to this dungeon.

Coneria is a town located next to Castle Coneria. It is the player's starting point. Many players return here frequently because of the inexpensive inn. In Final Fantasy Origins, it is named Cornelia.

A small, unassuming town in the southeast corner of the map. Here can be found the Circle of Sages, a group of 12 sages, most notably a man named Lukin. They hold valuable information pertaining to Chaos and the four fiends.

A town of elves living south of Cornelia. Their prince has recently been placed under a curse by the dark elf, Astos, and is caught in an unending sleep.
List of Final Fantasy locations - Floating Castle/Flying Fortress
One of the Lufenians' legacies. Home of Tiamat (the Wind Fiend) and the Wind Crystal. This castle is accessable only by using the Warp Cube on top of the Mirage Tower. Inside, one can expect to find many firendly robots who's purpose was lost long ago. The very top floor, where Tiamat lurks, is also home to the War Mech, the game's most difficult random encounter, and possibly even more difficult than Chaos himself.

A small town to the northeast. The faeries who live in the spring there are said to possess the mythical "oxyale," an item that allows humans to breathe underwater.

In a cave west of Melmond lives a giant with a taste for rubies.

An ice-filled cave northwest of Crystal Lake. There is rumored to be a great and wondrous treasure hidden within.

Located on the eastern edge of the map, this town is home to the descendants of the once-prosperous Sky People. Although they are no longer a tachnologically advanced people, they supposedly hold the key to the Wind Shrine. The Lufenians speak a strange, ancient language that cannot be understood without finding a means of translation.

A small, monster-filled cave west of Elfheim. The king of the Western Keep claims that Astos took his crown here.
List of Final Fantasy locations - Matoya's Cave
North of Conelia, an old, eccentric witch lives alone in the cave with her staff of magically enchanted brooms. She had recently been robbed by Astos, the dark elf, and lost her crystal ball (her only means of seeing). She is the only one capable of making the potion to lift the curse on Elfheim's Prince, and will gladly do so in exchange for her crystal ball's return. This is a mandatory step in curing the elf prince.

A town west of Cornelia, and the one closest to the Earth Shrine. Due to its proximity, it is the first to feel the effects of the rotting earth. What's worse, the townspeople claim that a vampire lurks nearby.

Northwest of Elfheim lives a small community of dwarves. They are skilled with explosives and some of the finest weaponsmiths in the world.
List of Final Fantasy locations - Mt. Gulg Gulg Volcano|Gurgu Volcano
Gulg Volcano is in active volcano, the home of the Crystal of Fire, as well as the nest of the fiend Marilith (monster) (a.k.a Kary). In the story, the Warriors of Light must infiltrate the volcano, destroy Marilith, and restore the Crystal of Fire to grace. Marilith is the second of four fiends the Light Warriors must defeat to save the world.

This seemingly unremarkable town is home to the world's only submarine, and it is the unly way to reach the Sunken Shrine.

Pravoka is an important town located northeast of Castle Coneria. Bikke the pirate initially controls the town, although he will relinquish it (and his ship) to whoever can defeat his nine pirates.

South of Cresent Lake, this plain-looking desert is rumored to be hiding one of the Sky People's greatest technological achievements. No one, however, has managed to figure out how to call it forth.

West of Melmond, beyond the Giant's Cave, lives an old sage named Sarda. He holds the key to the Earth crystal and awaits the coming of the Warriors of Light.

The shrine, in the water beneath Onrac, is home to a group of mermaids, the water crystal, and, more recently, the Water Fiend Kraken.
List of Final Fantasy locations - Temple of Fiends/Temple of Chaos Temple of Fiends
At the beginning of the game, Garland, alongside the kidnapped Princess Sara, can be found here. As is revealed later, this very temple was used by Chaos 2000 years in the past when he released the four Fiends into the world. Also lingering in the temple are some defeated sky warriors are here, having been transformed into bats. Coneria is the nearest town. In Final Fantasy Origins, it is known as the Temple of Chaos.
List of Final Fantasy locations - Tower of Mirage Mirage Tower
Built by the sky people as a gateway to the Floating Fortress, the Mirage Tower cannot be seen without the aid of an ancient artifact. Any who hope to reach the Floating Fortress must retrieve the Chime, find the Warp Cube, and defeat the dragon guarding the tower's roof.

Northwest of Elfheim, this castle is deserted by all but its ruined king, who begs the party to retrieve for him the crown stolen by the dark elf Astos.
