Life Transforming Affirmations: Music to Uplift Your Consciousness The important thing to bear in mind, while practicing affirmations, is that because the mind has a tendency to use words while thinking, it is helpful to use them in such a way as to uplift the mind in cooperation with divine inspiration. Here are some points to remember while you repeat uplifting word-phrases and melodies during the day: - Consciously or subliminally, people tend to recognize in melodic structure the essence of heart feeling. Guide your feelings, then, in a positive direction by singing uplifting melodies. - We tend also to ground our consciousness by rhythm. Support your chanting and affirmations therefore, with rhythms that help to awaken and strengthen your determination to go deeper in meditation. - Most of the rhythms one hears in music nowadays are degrading - literally so, for they magnetize the lower chakras in such a way as to draw the energy downward. Grounding rhythms should uplift, not grind one into the ground! - As affirmations to music, or chanting, draws to a conclusion, the words and music have moved from being an external experience to an internal one; there is a dynamic stilness that can be tangibly felt. At this crucial moment, take the opportunity to use the vibration set up by the chanting and dive deep into meditation. - Then sit silently for as long as you can do so with joy. - Not to use affirmations or chanting as a send-off into silence, is to leave the airplane after taxiing it onto the runway! Two simple chants, or affirmations to music, said or sung to God or the Omnipresent Spirit, are: - ÒReveal Thyself, Reveal Thyself,Ó or - ÒLord, I am Thine, be Thou mine.Ó . .
