Krishna consciousness: Krishna Consciousness And the
Energy MatrixBy Shyam Behari Lal
There are three kinds of energies: Internal, external and marginal. Internal or spiritual energy pertains to Krishna consciousness, Gods superior energy. The spiritual world is a manifestation of His internal energy. The living entities, of marginal energy, perform material activities when acting under the external energy of God. And when they are engaged in the spiritual energy of God, their activities are of Krishna consciousness. So the enlightened do not act under the spell of material energy; they act under the protection of Gods spiritual energy. This energy is obtainable through Krishnas or the spiritual masters mercy. The Vaikuntha planets are products of spiritual energy of Krishna, God absolute. The living entities, being infinitesimal of Gods spiritual energy, can reside either in the spiritual or material world according to their association with specific energies Ñ they are designated as tatastha shakti, or marginal potency. The material universe is the manifestation of His external potency. Since the Supreme Lord is master of all energies, He is also in absolute control of both the spiritual and material universes. Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita (9.10) says: - The material nature, which is one of my energies, is working under my direction, O son of Kunti, producing all moving and non-moving beings. Under its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again. - The Lords external potencies are qualified by the three material modes Ñ satvic, rajsic and tamasic . One infused with spiritual potency can immediately grasp the difference between these two. Delusion is the perverted image of reality and is maya or illusion, His external energy. This illusion is totally absent in His internal potency. The jiva or soul is a product of Gods transcendental energy, but jiva becomes deluded into identifying the body with the self. Once this ignorance is removed, he can understand the actual nature of the body. Maya is possible on the mundane plane but never in the spiritual energy plane. So there are two kinds of worlds Ñ the material and the anti-material. The former is composed of inferior qualitative energy while the latter is made of superior qualitative energy. Because both are emanations of supreme transcendental personality of Godhead it follows that Krishna is the ultimate cause of all creations and annihilations. All living entities are destroyed materially along with the destruction of the material worlds. The living entity however, is constitutionally an anti-material particle. But unless he elevates himself to the region of the anti-material worlds by cultivation of anti-material activities, he is destroyed materially at the annihilation of the material worlds and is subject to rebirth in a material shape with the rebirth of the new material universe, subject to pains of repeated birth and death. Only those who take to the loving service of personality of Godhead during the manifested stage of material life are transferred to the anti-material worlds after quitting the material body, achieving immortality. Einstein said: - My religion consists of humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit (God), who reveals Himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble minds... The incomprehensive universe forms is my idea of God. - Earlier, scientists did not believe in consciousness. Their focus was exclusively on the physical aspects. Today, new physics is probing consciousness as a phenomenon that exists. For, the matter-space-time matrix of the physical universe owes its existence to consciousness. |
