Ionic school
The Ionic School of Ionia was the earliest of the schools of philosophy in Greece.
Founded by Thales of Miletus around 600 BC, the prominent members of the Ionic school were natives of Ionia, one and all of whom traced the beginning or basis of things back to the action of some physical agent, such as water, air, fire, or earth.
Some of the most famous members of the school were Thales, Anaximander, Anaximenes, and Heraclitus.
