Fictional crossover - Gag cameo
A character appears only briefly in another setting, mainly for joke purposes.
- Belle from Beauty and the Beast crosses the street in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
- Mr. Peabody and Sherman appear on The Simpsons, commenting on time travel (The Simpsons).
- Sebastian from The Little Mermaid was pulled out by the Genie in Aladdin, along with the first few notes of "Under The Sea" playing.
- A tea set that has a striking simlairity to Mrs. Potts and Chip from Beauty and the Beast was shown for a few seconds in Tarzan (It can also be seen in Deep Jungle in Kingdom Hearts, despite the fact that Belle and the Beast are somewhat important plot characters.).
- Pumbaa from The Lion King being carried on a spit in The Hunchback of Notre Dame
- King of the Hill characters appear on The Simpsons to comment on a peewee football game (The Simpsons)
- Rocket J. Squirrel appears on Family Guy, mimicking a familiar scene from Rocky & Bullwinkle (Family Guy)
- In a Camp Lazlo episode there is a moose's head on the dining room wall that looks suspiciously similar to Bullwinkle J. Moose.
- In "Metal Munching Moon Mice" episode of Rocky and Bullwinklethe Chief Villian Mr. Big looks suspiciously similar to Jay Ward.
- Bud Bundy (David Faustino) of Married... With Children appeared briefly on Parker Lewis Can't Lose, in a detention room scene, "and I don't even go to this school!" (He wears a "Polk High" t-shirt–the school the Bundys attended–to emphasize his point.)
- Mr. Tumnus appears on Family Guy in the drier while Peter is looking for his lost sock.
- Jay and Silent Bob appear as visitors to the movie studio in Scream 3
- Meatwad from the Aqua Teen Hunger Force speeds by on a bike on The Brak Show (The Brak Show)
- A big fight on Sealab 2021 is revealed to be a video game controlled by members of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Sealab 2021)
- Huckleberry Hound devolves into a normal dog on The Brak Show (The Brak Show)
- Amitabh Bachchan's character in the Bollywood film Maard briefly appears in the comic guise of Father Anthony, a persona that a different character played by Amitabh Bachchan, Anthony Gonsalves, had previously adopted in the film, Amar Akbar Anthony. In both films, the Father Anthony persona has the same costume, mannerisms and accent, even though Amitabh Bachchan is playing a different character in each of the two films.
- Mojo Jojo appears as an unimaginary friend in the pilot episode of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
- What's New, Scooby-Doo? appears a look desert mexico What's New, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner Fasters
- Dr. Raymond Stanz (played by Dan Aykroyd) from Ghostbusters makes an appearance running from the haunted house in Casper (movie)
- Ned & Stacey, title characters of a 1990s Fox sitcom, appears in a West Coast gallery at the close of an episode of Partners, the show which aired immediately beforehand; Ned & Stacey star Thomas Haden Church quips that they only have 30 seconds to get back to New York in time for their show.
- Tim Taylor plays with a Buzz Lightyear doll (Home Improvement).
- In Part 3 of Eddie Monster (Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends), towards the end, Ed, Edd and Eddy can be seen learning about the monster that looks like Pikachu from the boy that is like Dexter.
- In the final two episodes of G-Gundam, machines from all the previous Gundam series, the then in-production Gundam Wing, and other mecha series by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino appear among the forces battling the monstrous Devil Gundam.
- In one episode of Gundam X, Roybea uses his vacation time to visit his former girlfriends. One of them looks, sounds, and acts almost exactly like Relena Peacecraft, the protagonist of the previous Gundam series, Gundam Wing.
- One of the most bizarre cameos ever was when Cartoon Network's Johnny Bravo appeared on a poster in Atari's computer game Backyard Baseball 2005.
- Dexter and appears on Time Squad, commenting on time travel Buck Larry 2000 (Time Squad).
- Family Guy and The Simpsons have made numerous crossovers with eachother. In one episode of Family Guy (PTV), character Stewie Griffin ran over Homer Simpson in his big wheel. In Simpsons' episode The Italian Bob, Homer sees pictures of Peter Griffin and American Dad! (Of fellow Seth Macfarlane cartoon American Dad.) in a book of criminals. In Simpsons' episode Treehouse Of Horror XIII, Homer accidentally creates millions of clones of himself, one of which happens to be Peter Griffin. In Simpsons' episode Missionary: Impossible, Betty White walks up to a TV with the Family Guy logo on it during a telethon and calls it crude, low-brow entertainment. In Family Guy episode 8 Simple Rules For Buying My Teenage Daughter Stewie goes on a long rant about people who sit at Taco Bell at 2 AM every night watching their favorite Simpsons episodes and memorizing the Mr. Plow theme. These, however, are less friendly crossovers than subtle shots at eachother due to the fact that the creators of The Simpsons have started a feud with Family Guy and it's creators, due in part to the fact that the creators of The Simpsons insist Family Guy is a rip-off of The Simpsons. This is, however, debatable because of the fact that the aspects Family Guy allegedly ripped off The Simpsons were derived by The Simpsons from other, earlier TV shows such as The Honeymooners and The Flintstones.
Note: Many comedies and animated television series, such as Family Guy and The Simpsons, have numerous gag-based "crossovers."
