Feng Shui: Emergency
Feng Shui TreatmentBy Myriam Maytorena
Emergency Feng Shui Treatment The purpose of Feng Shui is to restore balance and create harmony. There are times we cannot bring in a Feng Shui practitioner to assist us in this right away. Here are some fundamental principles to guide you and support your balance and harmony until the practitioner arrives. · Clutter: Keep it clean and tidy. Make sure the furniture is the correct size for the space. If the furniture is too large, it can block the flow of qi. It is also important to allow the space to be and appear "lived in." Therefore, random placement of furniture is a good thing so long as it doesn't block the flow. Keep those corners clean and the closets as neat as possible. · Water (outside the building): During the current period of time (2/4/1984-2/3/2003), water in the East will bring steady wealth and prosperity. Water in the Southwest will bring sudden and unexpected wealth. In the West, water will bring financial hardship. It is best to have a "mountain" in the west. This can be anything from a raised flowerbed to a building, a hill, or a real mountain. · Beauty: What is beautiful emits sheng (good) chi. If you have ugly, dying plants, replace them with good-looking, healthy ones. If you have furniture that needs reupholstering or repair, then tend to that. Keeping the walls fresh and hanging art that you enjoy is good feng shui. · Health: Sickness energy can be cured by the sound of metal. The most convenient source of metallic sound is that of a chiming clock. The piano is also a good source of metallic sound. Playing piano music from a CD or tape can do wonders. · The main entrance to a house is an active area. Yang qi is invited into the house to give it vibrant energy. Therefore, trees too close to the door are not desirable. Keep the shrubs trimmed back from the front entry and make sure the door is well defined. Metal animals by the front door are also good during this time. If you have plants by the door, be sure they are "friendly" plants with nice soft leaves that are round, not spiky and stabbing. · Bedrooms are "yin" spaces where people rest and rejuvenate. It is best to have these rooms away from the front or "yang" area of the house. Bedroom doors should not open to the front door or to other bedroom doors. It is best to place your bed so that you can see the door but not be directly in front of it. A headboard will increase your chances of good rest and stability. Stay away from round or circular objects in the bedroom. It is best to use square objects. · Family rooms are where families come together to share love and care, joy and fun. Use warm colors here and create a joyous atmosphere. Natural placement of furniture and accessories is the key to good feng shui. It is best to stay away from mirrors, flutes, and wind chimes. If you are experiencing an unusual amount of irritation, it may be the wind chimes. Try taking them down for a while and see what happens. See what your mirrors are reflecting and what is behind the wall on which they are hanging. You may be creating more sha chi with the mirror. Remember, if it's not beautiful, it's not good Feng Shui!
