Larry Burns is the illegitimate son of Mr. Burns and Lily Bancroft, daughter of a Yale classmate. During Larry's appearance on the show, he pretended to be kidnapped by Homer in order to catch the attention of his father.
The character of Larry Burns is very much based on Dangerfield himself, and there is a reference to the movie Caddyshack at the very end of the episode. Larry Burns all of a sudden yells "Let's Party!" and Journey's "Anyway You Want It" starts playing, a reference to Dangerfield's character Al Cervick in Caddyshack.
