 | Spiritual Health – Amalgam from an homeopathic viewBy Christina Lloyd
There are 40 to 60 tons of amalgam in the teeth of Sweden's population. About
50 percent of this is mercury. Everyone agrees that mercury is not good for the
environment or for health, but we still do not have a total ban of it.
In 1994 it became illegal to import, manufacture or sell measuring
instruments containing mercury. The use of amalgam in the dental care of
children and adolescents ended in July 1995, and according to Governmental
Decision 13 (May 19, 1994), amalgam should be eliminated from adult dental care
as soon as possible, "by 1997 at the latest." But why wait! Homeopath
Lars Lonnerud knows what mercury does to
us and how we can have it removed without getting sick.
Lars Lonnerud himself has had more than 40 of the
symptoms of mercury poisoning, among them severe headaches and joint pain. Today
he is completely healthy, and something like 1,000 "mercury patients"
have recovered their health through his treatment. "You can get better
regardless of how sick you have been," he says, but emphasizes the
importance of changing fillings in the right way, at an easy pace, and of
preparing with selenium, charcoal tablets and raw fermented sauerkraut . (See
inset.)
Why is mercury so dangerous?
"The body thinks it is some form of mineral that
it needs, so instead of being thrown out, it is collected, little by little, in
the body." The dental association calculates that nearly 500,000 people in
Sweden suffer from amalgam- and mercury poisoning.
The more metals we have in our mouths, the greater the
risk of a problem.
"When amalgam is combined with other metal in the mouth, a powerful
corrosive process occurs. That is to say, the amalgam is quickly broken down
and the mercury is released. Furthermore, electrical currents are also
generated in the mouth and in themselves most probably interfere with the very
fine cooperation between and within the cells.... A lot of patients can
tolerate gold and titanium in the mouth if they have not already been poisoned
by amalgam. If you have been poisoned by amalgam, you should not use any metal
at all. I have seen altogether too many people get sick when they have titanium
or gold put into their mouths.
"The basic principle, then, is not to have any
metals in the mouth at all. The environment of the mouth itself is like an
electrolytic, like what you have in a battery. If there are different metals in
the mouth, there will be electrical currents running through the oral cavity. If
electrical currents are being generated in the mouth, it is almost always the
amalgams which are most base and are broken down most quickly,"
dentist Christer Malmstrom
What are the symptoms of amalgam poisoning?
A person charactaristically has many different symptoms -- headaches,
joint pain, menstrual difficulties (a great deal of mercury lodges in the
ovaries), unaccountable tiredness, frequently biting one's cheeks (the mercury
has a numbing effect), metallic taste, diarrhea, clouded vision,
hypersensitivity to sound and light, dizziness, ringing in the ears,
clumsiness, difficulty concentrating, depression, sinusitis, inability to take
action, among others.
"The mercury vapors released from the teeth go via the sinuses and eyes
straight up into the brain. Most people who are strongly affected by mercury
suffer from memory loss and concentration and learning difficulties. When the
brain isn't working, you lose a lot of your self-confidence, and that's the
worst. The mercury vapor also sits in the pituitary gland, which controls the
thyroid, the adrenal glands, and the ovaries, which together are responsible
for the entire hormonal apparatus. This generates premenstrual difficulties of
the highest order. The endocrine system, liver, gall bladder and kidneys, are
affected, as well, resulting in greater difficulty absorbing nutrients."
One of the fundamental causes of these problems is that
the metals have a constricting effect on the blood vessels. The blood congests
in the head, with heat and a flushed complexion as a consequence.
"If the congestion is great enough, blood pressure goes up. There are a
great many people today with high blood pressure as a result of this. This even
affects the pressure inside the eyes and can lead to glaucoma, which usually
does not develop before one is a little older. The youngest I have had was 32
years old, but she recovered completely."
Are there special risk groups?
"Yes, people with low blood pressure, depressed blood circulation
and intestinal function. People who work in surroundings with a lot of
electricity. Eating habits also have an effect. Acidic foods and beverages
oxidize the metals, and so more mercury is released. Even your bed and its
location have an effect. A matress with metal inner springs is an induction
space that intensifies the electromagnetic field. Sweden and Albania are the
only countries in Europe that do not ground all their electrical current, so
that the plumbing functions as the ground, which means that a radiator, for
example, can have a magnetic field of about one meter. Lamp cords have a
functioning current even when the lamp is turned off, says Lars Lonnerud ,
warning about cords under the bed. If it is possible, you should also make sure
that you are not lying on Curry and Hartman lines.
Electromagnetic fields, especially the ones in our homes, hit women the
hardest, according to Lars Lonnerud .
"Women wear more metal jewelry, they work more often with computers or in
stores, environments where there is a lot of electricity. They also work more
when they get home, ironing, vacuuming, and standing at the sink, which is the
largest magnetic field in the house." People born to mothers with amalgam
fillings also constitute a risk group. This group probably includes most of us.
"The mercury leaks out even if the mother isn't sick, and the child
manufactures antibodies as a fetus. This is how human beings through the agest
have created their resistance to various substances, and you could say that the
child becomes more or less allergic to mercury."
Lars Lonnerud 's own mercury story began already in the
womb.
"I was born to a mother whose mouth was completely
black. When I got my BCG vaccination, my whole arm started to rot." (Certain
vaccines contain mercury as a preservative, and the dental association can
provide information.)
When he was 26, the pain in his joints was so bad that
he had trouble getting in and out of the shop van he drove. Because he thought
the problem cam from being cold, he started a grocery store instead. But he got
even sicker. He was advised to become vegetarian, and that helped to a certain
degree. But he could not eat fruit or new potatoes, and he didn't know why. Vegetarianism
took him into the health food branch and the development of Sweden's largest
health food store, in Trollhattan. He grew organic strawberries, made raw
fermented sauerkraut, and was chairmain of the Swedish Health League. But he
wasn't healthy. One day he happened to receive a shipment of ten organic kiwi
fruits. The temptation was too great. He had not eaten dinner, and it was the
first time he had had poison-free kiwis. "I can probably handle
this," he thought.
"I got dizzy, weak in the knees, and couldn't see. I had to lie down on
the floor. And I felt that this was coming from my teeth."
It took time to find a dentist. In the beginning he
took one tooth every three weeks. But it was too fast.
"I have tested everything on myself. I now had the
benefit of knowing about, and using, a lot of homeopathic remedies. After one
year I was a lot better. When I was done with the clearing process, most of the
problems were better. Most people who have experienced metal poisoning feel
that they have gone through something big in their lives and wouldn't wish to
have it un-done. It has given them a kind of life experience and
transformation," says Lars Lonnerud , who today sees more than 20 patients
a day -- most of them with metal symptoms.
Advices before clearing out amalgam
·
Start
cleansing your body of toxins before you begin having your amalgam fillings
replaced. Do an intenstinal cure. It is important to have good, brisk
intestinal function, because a lot of poison is going to be coming out, and the
more there is in the intestines, the more is going to have to go through the
liver and kidneys. Good intestinal function can be obtained with the help of
unpasteurized sauerkraut (fermented raw cabbage).
·
Remove
all unnecessary poisons from your life, if possible, and take off all your
metal jewellry.
·
Use
non-abrasive toothpaste.
·
Take
extra selenium and homeopathic remedies that draw out metals.
·
Eat no
fruit except bananas and dates. Avoid berries, juice, smoked food, pickles,
shellfish, tomatoes, peppers, wine, colored liquor, dark beer, coffee (you should
rinse your mouth afterwards if you do drink coffee), piping hot food. Don't
chew too much.
·
Take
charcoal tablets before your appointment with the dentist. This neutralizes the
hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which will otherwise dissolve any amalgam you
swallow.
·
Never
take more than one tooth at a time, and wait six weeks between them. (Small
fillings are considerably more taxing for the body than one large one.)
·
Make
sure that the dentist drapes you and uses a fresh-air mask if there is one.
·
All
sufficiently large fillings should be broken and lifted out, not drilled.
·
Make
sure that the dentist is thorough. If there is even a little speck of amalgam
left, you will not get well.
·
Do not
eat mineral supplements; they block the outflow.
