The lyrics of their songs are often humorous, tongue-in-cheek critiques of German government or society. They gained popularity in Germany after a long hiatus with their song "Olli Kahn", referring to Germany's star World Cup goalie Oliver Kahn. The band's lead singer is Sebastian Krumbiegel, and their most popular singles have been "Millionär", "Küssen verboten", "Olli Kahn" and "Deutschland". In a pun with the band's own name and the Brothers Grimm fairy tale The Frog Prince, the symbol, or logo, of the band is a green frog wearing a crown. It has appeared ...

20 January: Encyclopedia II - British Rail Class 42 - Service

The D800s were originally intended for the Paddington-Birmingham route and tests proved that their extra weight and power allowed them to run to a two hour schedule with 368 tons in tow: one coach more than a Class 40 could manage. These plans were put back when Paddington became the temporary London terminus of choice for Birmingham during the early 1960s, whilst BR's preferred route from Euston via Rugby was electrified. Loads of greater than 370 tons would be required and the service remained steam-hauled until the advent of the more powe ...

After the 1795 Third Partition of Poland, Poland ceased to exist as an independent state. From 1795 through the opening of World War I, several unsuccessful uprisings to regain an independent state took place. • 20 January: Encyclopedia II - Shot put - Competitions and rules

Competitors take their throw from inside a circle 2.135 metres (7 feet) in diameter. They must rest the shot in between the neck and shoulder and keep it tight to the neck while throwing. At the end of the throw, the thrower must push the throwing arm straight with the thumb pointing down; if the thrower does not push the ball out and throws it like a baseball, the thrower may receive injury. Throwing a shot requires immense strength and power as well as grace and balance; while not as much so as discus, shot put is not merely heaving a meta ...
