2003: Encyclopedia II - Saturn ION - 2003

The 2003 ION comes standard with a 140 hp (104 kW) twin-cam Ecotec straight-4 engine. The ION's instrument panel is mounted on the top center of the dashboard, rather than behind the steering wheel. The ION is available in sedan and coupe form; the coupe is called a "quad coupe" due to the two smaller rear-opening "suicide doors" behind the front doors. The 2003 and 2004 ION was available with the VTi continuously variable transmission. In 2004, Saturn introduced high-performance "Red Line" variant of the I ...

2003: Encyclopedia II - Cadillac CTS - 2003

Introduced in 2002 for the 2003 model year, the CTS rode on General Motors' new Sigma rear wheel drive architecture. It was a return to rear wheel drive, as well as being the first Cadillac with a manual transmission since the 1988 Cimarron. It replaced the compact rear wheel drive Catera, with some positing that the CTS name stands for "Catera Touring Sedan", just as the larger STS is the replacement for the Seville Touring Sedan. The CTS was nominated for the North America ...

2003: Encyclopedia II - Serena Williams - 2003

She won the Australian Open in 2003, her fourth straight Grand Slam singles title, becoming only the ninth woman ever to win all four Grand Slam events. Her accomplishment was dubbed the Serena Slam. For the first time since January 2002, the Grand Slam final did not read Williams-Williams at the French Open in June 2003. Venus lost to Vera Zvonareva in the fourth round of the French Open. 2003: Encyclopedia II - Mercedes-Benz SL-Class - 2003

As the new millennium approached, the SL was a decade old and customers were turning to more modern cars like the Jaguar XK8, but there was still no denying the Mercedes exclusivity. The impressive equipment list kept getting longer as the years passed, as did the £50,000+ price tag. In 2003, an all-new SL (initially just a 5.0 L SL500 version) went on sale, boasting the "Vario-Roof", an electric folding steel roof which had been seen on the smaller, cheaper SLK in 1997. A 5.0 L 302 hp (225 kW) V8 was optio ...

2003: Encyclopedia II - Mitsubishi Galant - 2003

The United States has had the sedan-only ninth-generation PS platform model since 2003, announced at the New York International Auto Show in April of that year, for the 2004 model year. Other markets did not see it till much later. One of the first markets outside North America to get it was the Republic of China, which launched the Galant Grunder in December 2004, with a (so far) unique front end. All new Galant engines come with new GDI or gasoline direct injection engines. Mitsubishi was the first car manufacturer to commercially use the GDI or stratified charge engine. < ...

This was screened after it actually happened, as Phil revealed all to undercover cop, Kate. Having followed Lisa and Louise to Portugal, Phil employed the services of Dom who tracked her down. Despite a change of heart on Dom's side, Phil had the information he needed and headed to her flat where he broke in and stole their passports. When Phil confronted her, he asked her to get Louise and promised to leave her be, once he'd seen his daughter. Lisa knew better though and fled, hoping to run off to Lisbon to find Mel. 2003: Encyclopedia II - Tikrit - 2003

In the opening weeks of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, many observers speculated that Saddam would return to Tikrit as his "last stronghold". The town was subjected to intense aerial bombardment and on April 13, 2003 several thousand US Marines aboard 300 lightly armored vehicles converged on the town, meeting little or no resistance. With the fall of Tikrit, U.S. Major General Stanley McChrystal said, "I would anticipate that the maj ...
