Unlike the following Challenges, it was not too complicated and consisted of a technical evaluation, quick engine start test, quick wing folding test and fuel consumption trial only.

The Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act eventually "imposed an effective tax rate of 60% on more than 3,200 products and materials imported into the US. Tariff rates had quadrupled."
