Today many of India's premier educational institutions such as IIT-Madras, Chennai; Anna Universit ...

| | | | 13th century: Encyclopedia II - Haute Cour of Jerusalem - Composition of the courtThe Haute Cour was a combination of legislative and judicial powers. It had its basis in medieval parliamentarian idea: a sovereign desired the consent of his subjects in certain matters, such as taxation and obligations to conduct military service - having received the majority consent, enforcement was easier. It can be said that in today's business world, effective managers are using basically the same method: engagement of commitment by involving subordinates in the decision-making process.
The court decided both individual cases and general norms or law, the era being su ...

| | | | 13th century: Encyclopedia II - Shield of the Trinity - SignificanceThe main achievement of the Shield of the Trinity diagram is to transfer a large part of the essential "mystery" or "paradox" of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity from the realm of complex verbal philosophical abstractions and esoteric theological vocabulary to the realm of simple logic, as presented in the relatively easily graspable form of a concrete and conveniently compact visual diagram. It is remarkable as a basically-successful attempt, roughly 800 years old, to represent a complex set of abstract concepts in precise graphic form ...

Novel - Traditions of Prose Fiction: The Ancient World.
As Pierre Daniel Huet noted in 1670, the tradition of epic works went back as far as Virgil and Homer. The regular format was verse, suiting the purpose of tradition in a culture of oral performances. Today, we see this tradition as going back even further, to the epic of Gilgamesh.

Comitatus Kingdom of Hungary - History.
After the Austrian-Hungarian Compromise in 1867, the territory and names of the counties still largely corresponded to those of the pre-1848 period. But, otherwise, these autonomous (i. e. self-governing) entities were considerably modified as compared to their pre-1848 predecessors. Above all, it was not only the nobles anymore who led the counties (see Functioning).
The territory of the Kingdom of Hungary consisted of counties, which in turn consisted of districts (more preci ...
