Contentment is within reach for a person who is compassionate and loving. The greedy, however, remain unsatisfied as they are constantly looking for bigger and better ways to fulfil their desires. At which point will they be satisfied - when they get a bigger house, a better car, higher designation? To overcome this vicious circle, we need to replace lower thoughts with noble ones. A greedy person pays no attention to the quality of his words and deeds. Always fixing his gaze on the future, trying to figure out how to do this or that, he will spend his whole life planning, calculating, and dreaming. Unable to be in the present and enjoy what is right in front of him, he cannot relish even his food, because while he is eating lunch he is planning his supper.

| | | | -logy - A: And Now for a School that is Completely Different
Think back to your grade school experience. Did you look forward to school? Did you truly enjoy school? Did you feel that what you were learning was meaningful and relevant to your life? Were you able to explore your true interests and fully develop your innate abilities? If you answered "no" to any of the above questions, how would your school experience have had to be different for you to be able to say "yes"? Now, imagine if you had attended a school where the only curriculum you followed was the one you created by discovering and exploring your interests. Imagine if you were not tested unless you asked to be. Imagine if electing your teachers was a normal yearly affair. And imagine if it all happened in a respectful, democratic community.

| | | | -logy - A: Retracing The Contours Of A Lost World
A friend told me about a temple she visited in Avudiyar in Tamil Nadu. Here, you will not find statues of any deity - only a daily offering of freshly cooked rice. The local people worship the steam that rises to the sky. As she spoke, my mind flew back to my childhood, and to the cavernous kitchen, that pulsated with an energy that radiated through the house.

| | | | -logy - A: A Life in the Day Of the Buddha
Pilgrims visit Bodh Gaya on Vaishakha Purnima day as it marks the three major events in the Buddha's life: His birth, enlightenment and passing away. Buddha Purnima assumes great importance especially when the world faces challenges of violence and terrorism in various forms. Buddha said that just as fire cannot extinguish fire, war cannot solve disputes. Enmity cannot overcome enmity; it can be overcome only with love. Disputes can be settled through dialogue and negotiation, not by war..

| | | | | | -logy - A: A Prison of Our Own Making
Every one of us is pre-programmed, in accordance with the culture, family, society or religion we are born into and grow up with. Most of us are indifferent to the fact that we operate with little awareness. So we end up living in a self-made prison. We have to learn the art of inner separation and not allow inner thoughts and attitudes of negativity to eat into our lives. Negative, ignorant, addictive, narrow, foolish 'I's eat our life forces just as rats eat crops. Some 'I's in us are our friends and some, our enemies. To recognise and de-identify ourselves with the negative 'I's is 'inner separation'.

Dream Dictionary - Car, Driving, Driving a Car, Car Driving, To drive a car, To drive a cab
Car, Driving, Driving a Car, Car Driving, To drive a car, To drive a cab - To dream of driving a carriage, signifies unjust criticism of your seeming extravagance. You will be compelled to do things which appear undignified.
- To dream of driving a public cab, denotes menial labor, with little chance for advancement. If it is a wagon, you will remain in poverty and unfortunate circumstances for some time. If you are driven in these conveyances by others, you will profit by superior knowledge of the world, and will always find some path through difficulties. If you are a man, you will, in affairs with women, drive your wishes to a speedy consummation. If a woman, you will hold men's hearts at low value after succeeding in getting a hold on them.

| | | | | -logy - A: Kaliyug Death of A Vishnu-bhakt
The elephant captured in Chhattisgarh was a victim, not just of an over-eager, insensitive agency that was ironically set up for the specific purpose of protecting endangered pachyderms. The poor animal was first forced to leave the forests of neighbouring states frightened by miners and rendered homeless by human-induced forest degradation. And then, when it tried to survive, looking for food, it was chased, caught, and made to die a slow death. Whatever happened to our tradition of respecting all life forms?

| | | | | -logy - A: A Poignant Plea for Truth and Justice
The moon of Muharram has been sighted. This is the beginning of the New Year of Muslims according to the tenements of Islam and the Shariat. This New Year reminds us of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, the grandson of our Beloved Prophet. According to Islamic history, there was a noted chieftain in the holy city of Mecca, Abde Munaf. Two twins were born to him, but they were Siamese twins with their backs joined by birth. The chieftain approached the wise men of the city for advice, and they said, "Now they are children, but when they grow up they will face problems."

| | | | | -logy - A: A Salubrious Stage For Krishna - Vraja Vrindavan
The sage, Narad, visiting Krishna in Dwaraka, was surprised to find that his Lord’s favourite pastime was to hear the story of Vraja-Vrindavan , its people and His own activities there. It is a story set in a particular time and space - however, its nature cannot be bound by time and space. The beauty of Vrindavan lies in it being both the seed and the fullest manifestation of the tree contained in that seed. The theme of all the stories of this lila is only one, and that is prem , love.

| | | | -logy - A: Give Peace a Chance - Don't Go to War
Wars happen when intolerance reaches epic proportions, when the reasons for war become greater than the sanctity of peace. Wars happen when we fail to realise the value of being alive. World leaders try to bring peace, but it is not an issue of institutions. It is human beings who start wars. Before a war begins outside, it starts inside. The war on the inside is more dangerous because it is a fire that may never be put out. Wars are being fought because peace is not being found within, because it is not being allowed to unfold.

| | | | | -logy - A: Every One of Us is a Masked WonderWhat can a cartoon character-turned-Hollywood
superhero communicate to us about matters spiritual? Very little, or so I
thought until a colleague who saw Spider-Man2 remarked casually that the one
scene in the blockbuster that she found the most poignant was where the
superhero, exhausted after his exertions in holding a train back from hurtling
to disaster, was gently brought inside by the passengers.

Christian Theological Dictionary on Ark of the Covenant
A
Christian theological definition of Ark of the Covenant according to CARM - The Christian
Apologetics & Research Ministry:
" Ark of the Covenant Also called the "Ark of the Testimony" (Ex. 30:6), "Ark of God" (1 Sam. 3:3), and the "Ark of the covenant of the Lord" (Deut. 10:8). The Ark of the Covenant was very sacred to the Ancient Jews. It was a rectangular box made of Acacia wood about 4 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet. It was covered with gold and was carried by poles that were inserted into rings located on the four corners. On top was a lid called "The Mercy Seat" which had two Cherubs with outstretched wings pointing towards each other. Inside of the Ark was the tablets of the Ten Commandments, a jar of manna, and Aaron's Rod that budded (Heb. 9:4). It served as the symbol of the very presence of God. The Ark of the Covenant was place in the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle and later in the Temple. Once a year, the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies and sprinkle blood on the Mercy Seat. This was symbolic of the forgiveness of the sins of the Jewish nation. "

Throws Up A Million SavioursHardship Throws Up A Million
Saviours
When we run for cover as the sky opens up and the rain
comes thundering down to the accompaniment of a million kettle-drums; when in
the middle of the night, our bed dances across the floor of our room in the
arms of a mighty earthquake, we exclaim: "Please, God, help me out of
this!" - no matter in what language we've muttered the words, no matter
what age we are living in, or where. Then there is one God, the protector of
all humanity.

Shui and Names
Naming
something enables us to claim it. We will take on more ownership with something
that we've named, whether it's a house, a car, a dog or a favorite chair. More
importantly, once something becomes personal, we're more apt to have compassion
and patience with any trouble that might come up. We're less apt to cut corners
when doing repairs or cleaning if the space has become personal.
